Role Overview

We’re seeking a highly versatile AI/ML Software Architecture Lead to drive innovation across our full software stack, from low-level CUDA optimization and embedded AI on edge hardware, to scalable backend services, to modern React-based frontends.

This is a hands-on technical role with the opportunity to shape software architecture decisions, lead engineers, and contribute directly to mission-critical projects with real customers. The ideal candidate has experience building and mentoring teams, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is motivated by solving challenging technical problems that span hardware and software.

You’ll work directly with senior leadership to guide the direction of software for both edge and cloud-based solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and guide software architecture across embedded, backend, and frontend systems.
  • Contribute hands-on code and technical solutions across C++, Java, CUDA, and React.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to build efficient computer vision pipelines and optimize performance from model training to deployment.
  • Partner with the hardware team to design software tightly integrated with physical products.
  • Mentor and grow a team of engineers, setting technical direction and fostering best practices.
  • Drive technical decision-making, balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Engage directly with leadership to align engineering efforts with company strategy.
  • hContribute immediately to two high-visibility projects serving real customer needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven experience in software architecture spanning multiple domains (frontend, backend, embedded/AI).
  • Proficiency in C++, Java, CUDA, and React.
  • Solid understanding of ML pipelines.
  • Experience building software that integrates with hardware products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; thrives in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a remote-first, fast-paced startup environment.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, containerized workloads).
  • Familiarity with modern MLOps practices for model training, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Prior work on high-performance, resource-constrained environments (e.g., GPU optimization, embedded systems).
  • Passion for tackling hard technical challenges with global impact.
  • A balance of hands-on technical depth and high-level architectural thinking.
