ABOUT THE ROLE

• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure and security processes that ensure our applications are secure, scalable, and highly available
• Design and implement security controls and processes in the CI/CD pipeline
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
• Manage and optimize AWS environments, ensuring high availability and scalability
• Implement and manage container orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools using Python
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure security best practices are automated, streamlined, and integrated into the software development lifecycle
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability management, monitor and respond to security incidents and threats, and perform regular audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to security policies
• Mentor and guide junior DevSecOps engineers
• Based in our Arlington, Va. office but will require some work at customer sites in the D.C. area and occasional travel to corporate offices in Palo Alto, Calif.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• A strong communicator and smooth collaborator with a solid understanding of security principles and best practices
• Proficiency in using GitLab for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS; strong scripting skills in Python; experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, and creative environment

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years of experience in a DevSecOps or similar role
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) and strong experience with AWS architecture
• Familiarity with IL 6/7 Environments
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Located in or ability to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area
