ABOUT THE ROLE

• Develop, implement, and maintain responsive user interface components for web and mobile GIS applications using React
• Construct visualizations that are capable of displaying large amounts of data
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Optimize components for maximum performance across an array of devices and browsers
• Work with other developers to discuss user interface applications and ideas

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven experience creating user interfaces and components that work seamlessly across different browsers and devices, including mobile layouts
• Comfort with taking ownership of the life cycles of products and capabilities in their entirety, from conception to ultimate high-quality delivery, while working with other engineers to ensure product, process, and codebase consistency
• Understanding of basic GIS concepts such as coordinate systems, projection, and tiling
• A strong written and verbal communicator with the capability to understand and clarify business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• A good team member who is kind and supportive of other people’s ideas while capable of giving and receiving direct feedback

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Extensive knowledge of React, JSX, data structures, and algorithms
