Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an ambitious Business School student with a passion for structure, organization and continuous improvement to join our Finance team. You will gain valuable business skills and experience at a fast paced, high growth startup during a critical product launch stage and contribute to building the foundation (structure and process) of our Harbinger Finance team made up of Corporate FP&A, Engineering, Production and Commercial Finance Functions. The primary responsibilities for this position will vary as the group is growing quickly along with the rest of the company, so the main objective is to help steer our growth sustainably!
What You'll Do:
- FP&A Reporting and Analytics Champion: in the spirit of continuous improvement, create a working level checklist to serve as a control tool to optimize monthly reporting and analytics process
- Enhance monthly reporting and impactful board decks with your creative and analytical abilities
- Create an efficient P&L and CapEx review process for the FP&A team to be able to quickly spot potential accounting errors
- Manage the planning for certain departments and enhancing analytics around them (think IT spend, # licenses, cost per license and IT cost by Function of the organization as some examples)
- Systems & Automation Powerhouse: continue implementing and enhancing our planning software, NSPB (NetSuite Planning & Budgeting)
- Prioritize the models which need to be designed and implemented into the tool
- Document and organize process documentation and training sessions for the team
- Strategic Process & Organization Guru: partner with Accounting/Controllership team to obtain and share the key policies impacting the GL coding of Purchase Orders (capitalization, prepaid expenses) and analyze the systems and processes impacted to ensure accurate recording of transactions
Required Skills:
- Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program or greater in related field; an MBA or other Masters Program (currently pursuing or completed) is highly preferred
- Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-time accounting/finance/analytics experience, with a strong preference for accounting/FP&A focus. You've been in the trenches and know how to get things done.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You can translate complex financial concepts into clear, concise, and compelling business language that inspires action.
- Startup DNA: Highly self-motivated, proactive, and thrive working independently in a demanding, fast-paced startup environment. You possess a positive "can-do" attitude and are eager to wear many hats, seamlessly assisting sales and marketing teams across a variety of dynamic activities.
California Pay Range
$25 - $35 USD
